Although it could sound like an obvious vacation-target for such a hobby photog I am, we've just took the opportunity to visit Tuscany last summer with my wife. It wasn't the very first time travelling to Italy - we've seen Rome years ago - but being in the same country it was yet so different!
A small advise for fellow travelers who also like to do sightseeing when on vacation: if you have time, take a trip to the countryside too. It worth the effort. Almost always.
In this case - come on, talking about the famous and lovely Tuscany! - definitely does.
Though we've been there just after harvest of grains - but just before harvest of olives! - it still gave a fabulous view.
On the way to and back, got time to visit Florence and Venice too:
