It all started with grandpa's camera - and its not just the phrase for something ancient, it was really my grandfather's stuff; a Praktica FX-2 35mm SLR.
Unfortunately he passed away year before I was born so i knew him only from grandma's stories: he was a hobby photog, so that's why I found this little beauty in the cabinet one day along with other old-day treasures.
Since it still works all fine I've started to learn how to use it - until that time all I knew about photography is which end to look into and which end to aim on the subject of a camera...
Luckily I've had a teacher in the high school I've learnt at the time who had this hobby too - he was kind of 'school's photographer' - so it came easily that I should ask him about what those little buttons and knobs and so, and how to shoot it anyway?!
Than just started to
shoot waste film practicing - take some awfully bad pictures, some even worse and (law of large numbers) a few 'quite OK' too. This keeps hope up to carry on shooting for any newbie - good to keep in mind!
To be continued... :-)
